Hi,
A blustery Friday it is here, and the Delaware is frozen!
I have a little rant regarding Windows...
Updates are standard operating procedure for any and all Windows users. As a matter of fact, if you don't update you will have even more problems. I take updates pretty seriously among the duties I have to perform. A third party utility called "PatchLink" is used where I work to cover updating the various Windows systems on campus. On a routine basis I connect to the patchlink server and deploy the necessary updates. That was the case last night, where this week is the second week of the month, the same week that Microsoft releases it's patches. This morning I was inundated with support calls regarding a prompt that is asking for the Office 2003 CD-ROM. It seems that an update for Outlook 2003 needs the original installer to complete the update process.
Who in the hell designed an update that requires the original installer to complete? Copying the CD-ROM to the local hard disk does not seem to satisfy the prompts request either...
Good 'ole Microsoft. Making senseless, repetitive work for IT administrators, the world over.
Get a Mac folks!

Or maybe Ubuntu?
